Developing Your Stop Smoking Plans

You have finally made the decision to quit smoking.No longer are you thinking about smoking, now you are ready to take the plunge and become a non-smoker.

You are tired of having nicotine control your life and are tired of the unhealthy side effects and stigma of smoking.You are ready to find the ultimate and most optimal way to begin the process of kicking the habit.

You will have to do several things in order to actually quit smoking.One thing is to pick the date you want to stop smoking.The sooner you can quit is the best, however, it is best to make sure that you are ready to stop by time the start date comes around.If you are not prepared then you are likely to fail.

Pick a day to quit and stick to it.There is no magical day, or right day, or perfect day to quit smoking except for the day you choose.The day you decide to put the pack down will be the first best day of your new non-smoking life.

On that day you should rid your house of anything smoke related.This is required in order for you to prepare your mind that this is the final time you will ever smoke, therefore you have no need for the 2 packs left in the carton, the ashtray on the table, or all of your lighters.Get rid of them to start the process of quitting smoking.

Once you have picked your date you should also think about a reward system for yourself.You could use the money you saved by not smoking to treat yourself to something.Figure out how much money you are saving by not smoking.

You will probably be amazed to find out how much you are actually spending on this unhealthy addiction.The main reward you will obtain by quitting smoking is better health, but, a new purse or game tickets may be the added incentive you need to reach your goal.

While you are changing your life for the better by quitting smoking you may want to go a step further and begin an exercise regimen.This will also get you healthier and give you a distraction from wanting to smoke.Some smokers gain weight when they stop smoking because they begin to indulge in eating instead of smoking.

Knowing that the risk of weight gain is there before you stop smoking will help you to avoid overeating once you start the process of quitting smoking.Your main goal should be to quit smoking, but, shedding some pounds and getting fit might be nice.However, don't try to overdo it.

Remember, the goal is to quit smoking first and foremost.Losing weight is merely an added bonus.You may want to plan on possibly adding on a couple of pounds during the process of quitting smoking, but after you have officially quit and the cravings are gone, you may find it easier to exercise because your lungs are stronger.You can focus on weight loss after you have freed yourself from smoking.

If you are in poor health overall you may need to talk to your doctor before you begin any stop smoking plan.Your doctor is not going to discourage you from stopping smoking but he may be able to give you some advice to help you quit.Your doctor can monitor your health and general well being while you are in the process of kicking the habit and help to increase your chances of succeeding.

Trying to quit smoking without a plan of action will be one long uphill battle that may be destined for failure.But, implementing some basic strategies such as the ones mentioned above, along with support from loved ones, and the advice and monitoring of your doctor will make the transition from smoker to non-smoker a smoother road to travel.

Do You Want to Tune UP? Then Tune In!

As I contemplate the joyous vibration that comes with the holiday season, I am immediately drawn into thinking about all the gifts I have already received and what I would like to re-charge the energy in my own life in the coming year in order to create more meaning my own life.

 


Making a change in my life was prompted by a phone call last night with a person I deeply admire.

Ellie Drake, founder of Brave Heart Women, was the moderator of the call and is one of those unusual beings who have a mission to inspire others to lead inspired lives.

 


I loved what she said about understanding one’s own emotional station.

My sense is that if we want to create more meaning in our lives, we need to keep checking our own vibration.When the energy is very low, one cannot reclaim personal power much less engage others.

 


Imagine if you will a building several stories high.

  Let’s call this your emotional station.It’s a place you come to on a daily basis to manage your life, your business and the choices you make.  It is also a magical place where you can shift your energy and your personal vibration.

 


In any given moment you may find yourself in the basement of your emotional station.

The basement is the location of old energy that no longer serves you.The basement contains the denial of who you really are as a magnificent creative being.The basement is full of survival issues so it is not a very high vibration enabling one to engage in creative energy.

 


If you move up in vibration, the next floor might be considered a floor where you feel unsure about how to empower yourself.

At this level you may feel anger or frustration.Frustration usually results when you are engaged in activities for the sake of the activity, rather than the purpose behind the activity.

 


Now move up another floor in your emotional station.

Here you might find a higher vibration that allows you to consciously connect with others.Through that connection, one often discovers their own purpose and meaning.I have found close friends are an invaluable mirror for reflecting back the energy my own passion.

 


Go another story higher and you might just discover that you do have courage; you have a willingness to make baby steps in changing your energy, your vibration, and finding deeper meaning in your life.

 


Move now to the top floor in your emotional station.

Here you may notice a wonderful open air space that allows you to have a completely different perspective.The attic is a playful place full of joy and gratitude.From this place it is far easier to create with purpose and passion.The highest vibration you can imagine is the location of the most energy.

 


The ironic thing about visiting your emotional station is that regardless of any of the lower floors you may find yourself in, it is simple to take the elevator to the top floor.

Just go up in vibration.Find the energy that makes you smile.  Be grateful for the talents, gifts, insights and skills you already have.The secret is that it is far easier to change the meaning you are looking when you have a higher vibration.

 


A higher vibration changes your personal source of creative energy.

  More energy is naturally tied to a greater sense of health and well-being.This vibrant state can be used to attract relationships that support who you really are as an authentic creative person.Ultimately the highest vibration you can imagine is what you will need to infuse your business ventured in the coming year.

What are the Vibrations of the Heart?

The subtle energy system associated with the physical body is known as the chakra system.A chakra refers to an energy vortex, which contains specific vibrations that give energy to the physical body.The vibrations from a chakra are picked up by the meridian system, which has energetic links to organs and structures in the physical body.

 


The fourth chakra has been called the heart chakra.

It is located in the center of the body.It governs the heart, thymus gland, the lungs and the pericardium.I like to think of the fourth chakra as the chalice or holder for both joy and sorrow.Those who have a well-developed and open fourth chakra seem to be able to use the heart as a filtering mechanism.They “see” or “hear” or “feel” with their hearts.

 


Because the heart is located midway in the body it is the connecting point between the three lower chakra centers and the three higher chakra energy centers.

Those who view the chakra system as a system of consciousness suggests that one must reach the vibration of the heart to appreciate the process of personal growth that gives rise to the notion of being in service to others.

Just as the brain is the only organ, which thinks about itself, the heart is the only organ in the physical body that cannot protect itself.Donna Eden the author of Energetic Medicine suggests, “The heart, as the unconditional lover of the body happily pumping its life-giving fluid to wherever it is needed, is truly made for love and not war.The pericardium is its bodyguard, like a knight guarding the queen.It is also a good personal secretary, buffering the heart from the fluctuating demands of the other organs.”


 


While the fourth chakra is associated with the heart in the physical body, the heart may be one of the most underrated organs in modern cultures.

While Western Medical practices are impressed with the notion that the heard is a pump, most indigenous cultures believe thought originates in the heart and not the brain.

 


Perhaps both perspectives are right.

The field of embryology or the study of fetal development suggests that the heart begins to pump at 14 weeks.Ironically, the brain is not yet formed so the central nervous system is not controlling heartbeat.Some researchers have found that the heart actually contains its own neural cells, much like those found in the brain.My question is: Can it be that the energy of the heart holds a higher vibration than that of the brain?

 


Perhaps.

If we look at the vibrations of heart waves produced on an ECG (electrocardiogram), we would notice that the electrical waves produced by the beating heart, have about fifty times the amplitude of that of a brain wave pattern found on an EEG (electroencephalogram).As a result of this greater magnitude, the heart tends to pull the brain into a process known as sympathetic resonance.Some may call this phenomena “entrainment.The conclusion may be that even though the heart is an organ in the physical body, in terms of energy and vibration, the heart may literally have a mind of its own.
